All our puppies are raised as pets and play with people and cats and other dogs daily. They are started on wormers at 2 weeks of age and done every 2 weeks to ensure healthy puppies. They are slowly started on solid food at 3 weeks of age and when the mother is ready to wean them, they are eating 3 meals a day.
The start of house training is begun from the very beginning. Once they move to a new home, it is very simple to teach them where to "go".
All the puppies are purebreds, but they are sold as pets. I do not show dogs, but spend a lot of time teaching my dogs and playing with them.
A whippet is a natural hunter. They are sight hounds and if they see a rabbit, they will go after it. Hopefully they will stop at the fence. When you buy a whippet as a pet, please make sure you have good fences. Once they start to run, you want them to still listen to you. They love to be with you and they are like cats and just curl up on the sofa when in the house. They do need to be able to get a good run in regularly, and they love to run. Make sure you teach your pup to come when called or whistled for.
